The Verse of A.B. (Banjo) Paterson Andrew Barton Paterson, more commonly known as Banjo Paterson, is one of Australia's best known and loved poets. He was born near Orange in NSW in 1864. Growing up on a farm, he attended school in Sydney and then became a solicitor. From this profession he moved to journalism, covering the Boer War in South Africa. His poetry was mainly published in "The Bulletin" magazine and he has written an enormous number of pieces. The ones presented here are some of my favourites, which I hope to add to over time. If you have a particular favourite you would like included, then email me. Index Bush Christening | Brumbies Run | Clancy of the Overflow | In The Droving Days
